Hi, I’m Carol, a UX Designer based in Petaluma, CA. My foundation in design was built at Art Center College of Design, where I honed my skills in visual design and user experience. See my branding, web design, social media, and illustration work at the link provided above. Over the years, I’ve worked across industries, adapting to evolving trends in design and technology to create meaningful experiences. As a visual designer, I’ve collaborated with agencies and corporations across the U.S., contributing to projects in diverse fields such as technology, retail, healthcare, land preservation, specialty food, and hospitality.
As someone deeply committed to continuous learning, I’ve embraced new tools, technologies, and insights to stay ahead in the ever-changing design landscape. My background bridges traditional design principles with cutting-edge UX practices, giving me a unique perspective on solving user-centered challenges.
I love working with people of all ages and backgrounds, building connections that drive creative solutions. Collaboration and human dynamics inspire me, and I thrive in teams where diverse perspectives shape innovative ideas.
When I’m not designing, I’m rowing crew, experimenting with letterpress art, or observing people in everyday life. I sketch what I see, imagining the stories behind their actions and interactions—blending observation with creativity to better understand human experience and behavior.
A project I’m particularly proud of is cPawd, a pet behavioral and medical device I developed over the last several years in the UX certificate program. Living in Petaluma, an agriculture-focused community with a rich history of innovation, I was inspired to create a device that would help pet owners better understand their pets’ health and behavior. cPawd uses sensors to gather data and make inferences about a pet’s condition, communicating these findings to the guardian. What started as a way to monitor my cat’s interactions with wildlife evolved into a tool that empowers pet owners with more insights into their pets’ well-being.
Currently, I work as a UX Designer and Marketing Specialist for a renowned winemaker recently recognized in Forbes as producing the best Pinot Noir in Sonoma County. My focus is on customer experience improvements through data analysis and user engagement, combining my passion for research, creativity, and collaboration to make a difference in the lives of users—and their pets!
I bring a deep understanding of how to uncover how people feel while interacting with products—you understand the technology, and I help bridge the gap by exploring their emotional and sensory responses, from the color and texture to how it looks and what it evokes, ensuring the design resonates and engages users on a deeper level.
